The kiddo flew into Seattle for The Gorillaz concert with her friends, but wanted to spend at least a little time with her dear mother. I thought this was a great opportunity to check another “adventure” off the list. I booked a two-hour Segway tour and then saw that it was supposed to rain all day, ugh! Most of the drive up from Portland it poured rain, but as I got closer to Seattle the skies started to clear. And by the time we got to the tour, the skies were mostly blue, yay!! There were four other people on the tour who had all done at least 3 Segway tours before. Alex and I were the only newbies and we were both very intimidated after the guide gave us the instructions. Luckily he made us practice in the office before we were let loose on the streets. I thought for sure I was going to crash!! Once we got going outside though, I found the Segway to be super intuitive. Alex was a bit more cautious though, allowing for lots of lead-time between her and the person in front of her. We did a thorough tour around the city, up and down many hills. There were a few new sites we hadn’t seen before…love the artwork along the waterfront. It was great to spend some quality time with the kiddo doing something so fun and silly! Looking forward to doing Segway tours on future travels.
